2014 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Keith Emerson & Brian Brown are living everyone's wine fantasy! Their Emerson Brown Project is, "Dedicated to crafting wines that will delight and satisfy a range of palates." With fruit sourced from some of the finest vineyard blocks in Napa Valley, plus incredible wine industry resumes, these guys are worth your attention.
Just recently, Robert M. Parker, Jr. of The Wine Advocate fell in love with this and blessed it with a 94 Point Rating and described it saying, "Emerson Brown 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has loads of chocolate, blackberry, espresso and new oak notes, gorgeous full-bodied texture, beautiful purity and length. This is a terrific full-throttle Cabernet Sauvignon that has the silky tannins of the vintage and enormous fruit extract. Drink it over the next 15-20 years."
What makes this wine unique?
The 2014 Emerson Brown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from sites Emerson Brown has been working with for years. Primarily bench and valley floor vineyard blocks located in Oakville, Rutherford and Calistoga.
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Explosive aromatics of ripe blackberry, juicy plum and fresh violets; plush, mouth coating texture with hints of mocha and chocolate covered blueberries; round mouthfeel with supple tannins and lingering finish. This fruit-focused, food-friendly Napa Cabernet is ready upon release and will age gracefully age for up to 10 years. Emerson Brown

KEITH EMERSON partner, Boston native, winemaker Keith Emerson has more than 15 years of experience in the wine industry. He is one of the few winemakers who excels in crafting both Bordeaux and Burgundian varieties and produce wines from Napa, Sonoma, Oregon and Santa Cruz. In 2005, Emerson joined Napa’s Vineyard 29 as Director of Winemaking charged with managing the production of Vineyard 29’s estate portfolio. As director, Emerson oversees all wine programs for Vineyard 29’s ultra-premium custom crush clientele, managing wine production for prestigious producers including Melka, Skipstone, Levensohn, Knighton Family and Vinoce. Concurrent to his Vineyard 29 duties, in 2005 Emerson partnered with friend and colleague, Brian Brown on the artisan winemaking endeavor, Emerson Brown Wines. He also consults for Robert Craig Winery, Gundlach Bundschu, Martin Ray Winery and founded a limited production Shea Vineyard Oregon Pinot Noir called Sonría in 2009. He holds a B.S. in Enology and Viticulture degree from University of California, Davis.
BRIAN BROWN partner, Brian Brown earned his Viticulture and Enology degree from University of California, Davis in 2001. After graduating, Brown worked harvests at Iron Horse Vineyards in Sonoma, Salitage in Pemberton Australia, and Napa Wine Company in Oakville. Eventually Brown was hired as enologist at Trefethen Vineyards where he spent two and half years learning to make technically sound, vineyard driven wines that express fruit qualities over those of winemaking manipulation. Brown finally turned his focus to ultra-premium winemaking and moved to Vineyard 29 as enologist, where he met friend and colleague Keith Emerson. After two successful vintages crafting wines with Emerson at Vineyard 29, Brown was hired as winemaker for Round Pond Estate. Simultaneous to his responsibilities at Round Pond, in 2005 Brown partnered with Keith Emerson to create an artisan winemaking endeavor called Emerson Brown Wines. Brown and Emerson have consistently collaborated since then and successfully made Emerson Brown what it is today. With a proven track record of quality and value, they continue to deliver Napa Valley wines of exceptional character and style.
