Fresh Alentejo. Crafted from Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes sourced from Vinhas do Choupal and Taco.
Tasting Notes
Ripe forest fruit with a touch of spices. Complex with good structure and a long, persistent finish.
Winemaking
The grapes were manually harvested in 25 kg crates and transported to the winery, where they were destemmed. The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 26-27°C. After the completion of fermentation, the wine underwent post-fermentative maceration for 5 days. The malolactic fermentation occurred naturally in stainless steel tanks, and subsequently, the wine was transferred to barrels where it aged for 12 months.
Ageing: 12 Months in French Oak Barrels

Soil: Granite origin with high clay content, sandy texture and low fertility.
The 2021 Growing Season
The 2021 season accumulated 721mm of precipitation, ensuring that water was not a limiting factor in the development of the vegetative cycle.
Spring and summer were mild and dry, reducing disease pressure and extending the vegetative cycle. The red wines exhibit vibrant aromas, with fruity notes and hints of spices. On the palate, they are elegant with a velvety texture and well-structured tannins.

We are committed to organic farming very seriously, which means not using chemically synthesized products, while employing careful crop management methods. It means that we do not use products of chemical synthesis and instead, we adhere to subtle cultivation practices.
Here, at Tapada de Coelheiros, we use natural-based products such as milk, seaweed extracts, and plant extracts to enhance the resilience of the flora, promoting its growth rather than depleting it.
We focus on restoring and enhancing soil fertility so that its microbial life (bacteria and fungi that compose it) can maintain their natural processes, truly acting as healers of the land.
