Balance in elegance. A balance of flavors, with three complementary varieties: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The elegance of a delicate, thoroughbred structure that underscores a continuum of perceptions: presence, then roundness, and persistence.
VARIETIES - Grenache, the dominant partner (70%), for its structure and complex aromas of fruits, spices and occasional liquorice.
- Syrah (25%) for its color, creaminess and tannins.
- Mourvèdre (5%) for the persistent aromas it generates on the palate and for its slow-ripening tannins.
VINIFICATION :Made with grapes from a patchwork of plots located across the Vacqueyras appellation. Each variety is vinified separately for greater complexity and to protect a unique expression of the terroir.
Some appraisals: “Complexity and nose that rank with the very best.” “Superbly rounded and smooth, yet what body!”
Food Pairings: Arabesque reaches maturity from 2-4 years, but can be cellared until 5-8 years, or even longer. A delicate companion for spiced white meats, roasted red meats, and a wide variety of sauced meats such as Daube Provençale and Blanquette de Veau.
Josh Raynolds Vinous Media: 90 Points
(70% grenache, 25% syrah and 5% mourvedre; all concrete): Bright ruby. Ripe red fruit aromas are lifted by a spicy nuance and pick up a candied licorice quality with air. Fleshy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors are sharpened by a peppery nuance and tangy minerality. Closes spicy and long, with slow-building tannins and very good clarity.
