Fratelli Cozza Bruffato di Famiglia
Winery: Fratelli Cozza
Category: Red Wine
Style: Italian Red
Region: Veneto
Varietal Composition: 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, 30% Collio Rosso.
Winemaking: The wine is obtained from grapes dried in the Appassimento Method.

Tasting Notes
Color: Intense ruby red
Bouquet: Aromas of ripe fruit, spices and vanilla.
Taste: Properly fruity on the palate, intense, warm, and with well-integrated tannins, notes of vanilla. Note flavors of raspberry, cherry, plum and blackberry along with cedar, tobacco, leather and dark chocolate, leading to a persistent finish.
Food Pairings
Red Meat, braised meat, game, and aged cheese.
The Appassimento Method
Appassimento is an ancient Italian winemaking technique that involves partially dehydrating grapes to concentrate their flavors, colors, and aromas. The word "appassimento" translates to "withering" or "fading" in Italian. The process involves picking ripe grapes, drying them, and then fermenting them into wine. The grapes lose weight, develop more sugar, and concentrate their flavors during the drying process.
Fratelli Cozza Winery
Fratelli Cozza Wines isn't just a winery; it's a legacy rooted in family, dedication, and the art of winemaking. Our story begins in the lush vineyards of Veneto, Friuli, and Puglia, where we've been crafting premium wines for generations. Stefano Cozza, with 40 years of industry experience, revived the family brand. Nephew Dario, returning from a decade in California, joined to preserve our heritage for the next generation. As a family, we proudly uphold our Italian roots, producing high-quality wines that celebrate our legacy worldwide.
At Fratelli Cozza Wines, our diverse range caters to every palate. From robust reds capturing our sun-soaked vineyards to crisp whites embodying our terroir's cool breezes, each bottle reflects our commitment to excellence. Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Primitivo, Nero di Troia, and more fill our portfolio, each meticulously crafted for a unique, unforgettable tasting experience.
Beyond grapes, we champion sustainable, eco-friendly winemaking. Preserving the land that inspires us is a core belief. Tradition guides every production aspect, ensuring each bottle carries our family's legacy of dedication to winemaking artistry.
Our Story
Gran Casato Fratelli Cozza is a wine group Company with several wineries located in the most reputed Italian wine areas such as Veneto, Friuli, Emilia, and Puglia.
All these wineries have a centuries-old wine tradition and naturally grown grapes.
The historical farmhouses, with their large wine cellars and barrels, witness a winemaking that goes back in time; the cultivation of the vineyards is an important component of the tradition and culture of these areas and is carried on following strict rules and knowledge handed down.
The Italian territory is large and can offer a great variety of wines. Nevertheless, it has a very strong wine identity, a deep respect for the land, and a deep respect for traditional winemaking techniques, which results in the outstanding, worldwide renowned quality of Italian wines.
Thanks to the variety of wineries and their prestigious locations, Gran Casato Fratelli Cozza is able to offer a wide proposal of wines rich in color, fragrant and persistent.
The standard of our Company is the cultivation of ancient vineyards with manual harvesting and the use of a minimal amount of sulfites.
We produce healthy and top-quality wines; they gratify the nose and the palate, and at the same time offer a sense of well-being that is typical and exclusive of natural products.
The reinterpretation of ancient Italian enology is our inspiration, and the valorization of the territory is our goal.
At our wineries, we give importance both to our past, our history, and our traditions and to our future, constantly focusing on continuous innovation and experimentation.
In this scenario, we are currently testing our new range of non-alcoholic wines, a new path for the future.
Gran Casato Fratelli Cozza is the emblem of Italian quality wines. The wide range of wines we offer represents the most authentic expression of a well-defined territory, both from a geographic and historical point of view.
