Tucked away in hidden pockets of the Anderson Valley lie our estate vineyards. Typically surrounded by redwoods and blanketed by coastal fog, these cool climate sites offer the perfect terroir to craft our unique White Pinot Noir. We select bright and aromatic clones of Pinot Noir that when gently pressed, release nuanced cherry and plum aromatics into a fresh white wine that is truly as surprising as it is extraordinary.
Maggy Hawk White Pinot Noir 2020
The 2020 Anderson Valley White Pinot Noir opens with aromas of ripe Golden delicious apple, Thai basil and lemon drop candy. You’ll find zippy acid that runs through the center of the palate; paired with flavors of Meyer lemon, Marcona almond and Asian pear that leads to a long, lingering finish. This unique wine offers an entirely original and truly beautiful sensory experience.

Maggy Hawk Vineyard
At Maggy Hawk, we take inspiration from the beauty of our Anderson Valley estate vineyards while continuing to seek out cool-climate sites. We focus on the purity of the grape, and the natural elegance found within.
The northern half of Anderson Valley – what locals call The Deep End – is typically shrouded in a thick fog that rolls in from the nearby Mendocino coastline. Here, our Maggy Hawk Vineyard, Skycrest Vineyard and Edmeades Vineyard are tucked away among the valley’s rolling hillsides, surrounded by redwoods.
The diversity of our vineyards gives our winemaking team a wealth of characteristics to layer into the Maggy Hawk wines. Each has its own style and story to tell. Together, they offer a unique view of this remote region.
Maggy Hawk Vineyard
Anderson Valley, California
The Maggy Hawk Vineyard is our Anderson Valley flagship. Family owned since 1994, and planted in 2000, our estate vineyard is tucked away in what locals call “The Deep End” of Anderson Valley, northwest of Philo. Here, coastal fog and redwoods frame the steep vineyard slopes where the vines root deeply to survive. The decomposed sandstone soils offer few nutrients but excellent drainage, resulting in small yields of well-structured fruit that can go the distance in the cellar.
Skycrest Vineyard
Anderson Valley, California
The Skycrest Vineyard is our highest elevation site in Anderson Valley, soaring almost 2000 feet above sea level in the hills northeast of Boonville. The blocks for Maggy Hawk’s Skycrest Chardonnay cling precariously to the steep hillsides at the very top. “You almost have to wear gravity boots,” says winemaker Tony Rynders. The cooler temperatures and stressful growing conditions mean the grapes ripen slowly, giving them greater depth of character.
Edmeades Vineyard
Anderson Valley, California
The Edmeades Vineyard was established in 1963, just north of Philo on the west side of Highway 128. This is a warm, flat site about 500 feet above sea level with clay soils and good sun exposure, so grapes tend to ripen earlier here. To help slow things down, Pinot Noir vines are positioned closer together than they are at the Maggy Hawk Vineyard.
