Pago del Vicario 6 months is the clear expression of what a Pago wine means. It is the result of the accumulated experience and work in our vineyard for twenty years, during which time it has achieved a balance that is transferred to our wines today. 6 months is made with Tempranillo, which gives us great fruitiness, Red Grenache that provides freshness and softness on the palate, Merlot that offers sweetness and Petit Verdot, which at Pago del Vicario we have known how to interpret to obtain a maximum fruit expression, unknown in its country of origin, Bordeaux.

La Mancha Wine
La Mancha is the largest delimited wine region not only in Spain, but in the whole of Europe. The viticultural area covers a vast expanse of the central Iberian plateau and occupies almost one half of the large Castilla-La Mancha region. It is bordered by Valencia and Murcia to the east, Extremadura to the west, Andalucia to the south and Madrid to the north-west.
There are more than 190,000 hectares (469,500 acres) of vineyard here. The vines are spread over 182 municipalities and four provinces (Albacete, Cuenca, Ciudad Real and Toledo). By comparison, Australia had just over 146,000 hectares in 2019.
Not only one of Spain's largest wine regions, it is also one of the oldest. Winemaking is thought to have originated here in Roman times, and was certainly widespread during medieval times.
Under Moorish rule between the 8th and 15th Centuries, it was known as al-mansha. This means "parched earth" – describing for the arid countryside here.
The Pago Del Vicario Winery
The Pago Del Vicario winery is located 9 kilometers from the center of Ciudad Real in an environment flanked by the Guadiana River and in the first foothills of the Montes de Toledo.
It dedicates all the grapes it produces, in the vineyards located next to the winery, to the production of its own wines, with the philosophy with which the project was born in 2000.
Pago del Vicario is a very modern, innovative Spanish winery. Its vineyards are located at an altitude of 600 meters in the center of the country, on the gentle slopes at the foot of the Toledo mountains. Pago del Vicario makes extremely modern wines, unusual, daring and always bottled in beautifully designed bottles. Pago del Vicario is more than a winery. It is a 'wine complex', with 130 hectares of vineyards, founded by two enterprising brothers, Antonio and Ignacio Barco, in 2000
The winery, in the shape of a spyglass, rises on the land of the vineyard itself and blends into the environment in a natural way and with an avant-garde silhouette on the banks of the Guadiana River and at the foot of the Montes de Toledo. Each of the different hills of the building integrates perfectly with the orography and color of the landscape, while the succession of decreasing arches symbolizes the different phases of transformation of the process, from the vineyard, to the tank, to the barrel, to the bottle and finally to the glass.
The design of the Pago Del Vicario winery combines modernity and tradition. Inside, state-of-the-art facilities and a barrel park made up of different types of oak: predominantly French, as well as American and Caucasian.
