Bodegas Romero De Avila Salcedo
A Treasure from Castilla La Mancha
In La Solana, Ciudad Real, Bodegas Romero de Ávila Salcedo is located, belonging to the Romero de Ávila family whose history in the world of wine dates back to the 16th century, as evidenced in the family coat of arms from 1598 that is still preserved in the winery. This announces the family's long history in the tradition of wine.
With more than 400 years of history, we still elaborate wine in amphoras as our ancestors taught us. This slow and natural fermentation process leads to, as a result, powerful and expressive wines, elaborated as Romans did 2000 years ago.
Our family has always been passionate about winemaking and each generation has known how to value the art of elaborating wine in amphoras.
Maintaining the traditional way of preserving our wines in amphoras is the noblest way to be loyal to our familial traditions.
Attaining excellence in each of our elaborations.
Our winery specializes in making the highest quality wine through complete vertical integration: Harvesting and cultivating directly from our vineyard, making wines with traditional techniques, barrel aging and bottling ourselves.
On the other hand, Romero de Ávila Salcedo works sustainably in the vineyard, in order to be as respectful as possible with the environment and its biodiversity. Hence, during the vine cycle, short pruning and green work are done, in order to maintain low production and guarantee quality grapes.
We are part of a generation that is committed to the future with different wines, where artisanal techniques are combined in a balanced way with modern technologies.
