Central Valley, Chile
Varietal: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Alcohol: 13%
Tasting Notes
Rayun Sauvignon Blanc is pale yellow in color. The bouquet is quite fruity, presenting aromas of fresh pineapple and green apples, and a soft citric touch. In the mouth it has good acid and remains fresh on the finish.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Green salads, oysters, shellfish, white fish with lemon or white wine sauce. As an aperitif, with white cheeses, or goat cheese.
Winemaker’s Comments
Pale yellow in color with glints of green and platinum, clean and bright. In the aromas notes of tropical and citrus fruits stand out with a hint of herbs that lends complexity. On the palate the flavors are of fruit, with a fresh, nervy texture, balanced acidity, and a long, fruity finish.
Winemaking
The grapes were harvested over an extensive period of time, depending on their origin, between 17 February–20 March. The mechanized harvest with grape selection took place at night or during the first hours of the morning. Once the grapes arrived at the cellar, they were pressed, and the juice was then clarified. Next, the juice fermented at low temperatures, before blending the distinct origins, seeking the best expression of the variety.
Central Valley, Chile
The grapes used for this wine come from two origins in the Central Valley: Colchagua Valley and Curicó Valley. The vines are vertically trained and drip irrigated, and are clones 242 and 1. In all of the vineyards we’ve emphasized handling the vines to ensure slow ripening, producing a wine with a great, lively expression of the variety.
Rayun
Rayun is a word that the native Chilean people, the Mapuche, use to talk about the flowering of a plant, or to wish good portents. The word itself means “Bloom.” Rayun is the birth of a new wine, birthed from Chilean land, and that wishes well to everyone who drinks it.
Rayun’s wines come from five valleys: Colchagua Coast Valley, Maipo Valley, Limarí Valley, Casablanca Valley, and Colchagua Valley.
The Rayun line is the winery’s most affordable. The aim is for approachable, everyday styles.
Sutil
Owner: Juan Sutil Servoin
Winemaker: Pamela Avilés and Marcelo Retamal
Juan Sutil dreamed of being able to offer the world wines that would be true ambassadors of Chile and its people, and it was his nephew Diego García de la Huerta who made it come true.
Diego was Viña Sutil’s first winemaker, and he believed strongly in the enological philosophy of terroir that holds that wines are the true expression of the variety, the land they come from, and the hands that craft them.
He traveled throughout the country to find the perfect combination of climate and land to plant vineyards. In Limarí, he was attracted by the calcareous soils and the “mineral” touch that they impart to the wines, especially whites. In Cauquenes, it was the poor soils and clusters with small berries that give very concentrated wines with intense color that caught his attention. Colchagua’s lure was the climate, the broad oscillation between daytime and nighttime temperatures, and especially the quality of its Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere, the best wines from the area.
In addition to winemaking, Diego García de la Huerta was also passionate about flying, and in 2010, he took his final flight, straight to heaven.
We are proud of Diego’s legacy as an enologist and the mark he left on his team. He was interested in their personal lives and their families. He rewarded their achievements, highlighted their talents, and made them feel confident in their abilities despite his high demands. And he also made them participants in a common cause: to produce great wines of origin.

The truth is in the origin
Our wines express a sense of place and are our tribute to the terroir that gave them origin
Philosophy
Our enological work is founded upon our firm belief that, “the truth is in the origin.” Special vinification practices and ongoing experimentation are aimed at naturally obtaining the best varietal expression, as only our land can provide.
We want our wines to portray their origin, be approachable, and help create enjoyable occasions.

Pamela Avilés
Pamela was born in Santiago, Chile. Since she was little, she has been a lover of spending time with her family, enjoying nature and the countryside. It is for this reason that one of her expectations was to be able to live outside the capital where she was born. This led her to study Agricultural Engineering with a minor in Oenology at the University of Chile. Not satisfied with only the title, she obtained, in that same university, a Master in Viticulture and Oenology in 2012
This great woman has several hobbies, including gardening, playing sports, and enjoying her son and family. Pamela did her internship and worked at the Sensory Evaluation Laboratory of the University of Chile, she carried out various evaluations and sensory panels of wines thesis and other products. After a few years, in 2012 she joined Sutil Wines as an assistant winemaker. Three years later she takes the role as Production and Plant Manager, and in 2021 she became the Oenology Manager of the winery. To this day, we are proud to say that she has been with us for over 10 years.
“The most important thing for people is to enjoy a bottle of our wines and live good moments with it. We seek that they´ll be able to try new wines and valleys, promoting the teaching and consumption of a product, which today is part of our culture”, indicates Pamela Avilés G.
As Oenology Manager, she assumes responsibility for the winery’s wine portfolio, regularly supporting different teams in the company with a big smile. It will not be unusual to find her actively participating in fairs and tastings, as well as relating to specialized press.
Together with her team, Pamela seeks to create wines that represent our spirit and that demonstrate that: “The truth is at the origin.”
