Bodega Sottano
History
In 1890, Mr. Fioravante Sottano arrived from Italy to settle down in Mendoza where he became pioneer in the production, promotion and exportation of wines in the Cuyo Region. His passion for wine was inherited in 1998 by his grandson, Ricardo Sottano, who could transmit this legacy to his sons Diego, Pablo and Mauricio. In 2016, the Vincentín family bought the winery to continue fostering the development of high-end wine making.
Winery
Sottano Winery is located in one of the most unique wine regions for growing high-end grapes in Mendoza. Thirty kilometres away from the City of Mendoza and on the way to Chile, Sottano Winery enjoys the magnificent Andes Mountain Range as its backdrop.
The winery is situated in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, in Perdriel, in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. It presides over two hectares of land, including 15,000 square meters of landscaping using only native species.
The architect Mauricio Sottano took the context of the landscape into consideration when designing the winery. For that reason, the materials and colors that he used in his design echo those of the surrounding area.
In regard to production capacity, the winery produces about 800,000 liters of wine annually. In a fully automated process, the wines are distributed in stainless steel tanks of different sizes, which allows us to maintain precise quality control. Our underground cellar stores our best wines during their aging in oak barrels and later in the bottle.
We use the highest level of technology to produce truly great fine wines. Great results happen when attention is paid to the little details.
