“The 2016 Dry Riesling also has 2% Gewurztraminer and six grams per liter of residual sugar. This is all Finger Lakes fruit from Gold Seal Vineyard. In the Finger Lakes, six grams isn’t much. Beautifully done, it is perfectly balanced, fruity, but not fruit-forward; bright, but not austere. It fills the mouth nicely and shows good focus. This is a nice, easy-drinker that does everything well, a perfect porchsipper for the summer. It probably lacks the intensity to age well, but it will hold a few years, at the least. In the meanwhile, it tastes great and the price is right.” Mark Squires

Tasting Notes
Light yellow in color, hints of tangerine, orange peel, apricot and peach abound from the glass. Lush peach and apricot flavors mingle wonderfully with the zingy mid palate acidity. It’s an excellent sipping wine and a perfect complement to seafood, Asian cuisine, spicy foods and barbecue.
Winemaker Notes
This Riesling is fermented cool (62 F) to accentuate the flowery, perfumed aromas of this varietal. The vineyard and age of the vines showcase the “minerality’. It does not go through malo-lactic secondary fermentation and is bottled early to retain a zingy vibrant acidity. It is blended with 2% Gewurtraminer to add aromatics and richness to the wine.
