Young Monica Medrano-Martin and Ruben Iglesias married and established a winery in 2002. Monica’s family has been living in Quintanilla de Onesimo for generations and began planting vines over 50 years ago - Ruben a young agronomist and winemaker was her perfect suitor. They now have two young children Sara and Mario and 24 Hectares of vines in Ribera del Duero.

Named after a medieval "snow well" found on their property - Pozo de Nieve is their youngest wine. Aged 4 months in used 80% American and 20% French Oak the wine is structured and fresh with ripe, almost silky fruit. It has a great mouthfeel and is easy to drink a feat hard to accomplish for most young wines in Ribera del Duero.
Land & Farming
Located on the "Golden Mile" in the town of Quintanilla de Onesimo near Bodegas Pingus and Arzuaga and only a few miles from famous Pesquera and Vega Sicilia. Vega de Yuso owns 24 hectares (60 acres) divided into 7 vineyards. All their vineyards are planted on steep hills above the valley floor, escaping the dangerous frost that force most wineries to harvest early.
- Pozo de Nieve Vineyards are about 25 years old and trellised.
- They were planted in clay rich soil at an altitude of 2,970 feet.
- Yields average 2.67 Tons per acre = 131 cases.

Vega De Yuso is a family-run winery located on the “Golden Mile” of Ribera Del Duero. High above the valley floor 25 acres of Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) are farmed and vinified by Ruben and Monica Iglesias – with the occasional hand of their children. Tinto Fino grapes are harvested from their 25 year old vines. Aged for 4 months in American Oak.
