Tasting Notes: Very dark, black currant color with rich and robust blue fruit on the nose. Full bodied with plums, vanilla and spice on the palate. Low acidity with nice balance and full ripe tannins on the finish.
Varietal Composition: 100% Tinta del Pais
Appellation: Ribera del Duero D.O.
Vineyards: Organic vineyards planted by Thomas Esteban, averaging 25 years. Soil comprised of boulder, round river stones, and sand with a subsoil of clay, sand, and limestone. 50% old bush vines, 50% trellised vines.
Harvest: Hand Harvest the last week of September and first week of October.
Winemaking: Organic practices. The fermentation process is very gentle without intensive extraction, in 50% stainless steel tanks and 50% oak barrel with indigenous yeast.
Aging: 24 months 80% French oak, 20% American oak, in 60% new and 40% one year
old barrels. Unfiltered, unfined.
Total Production: 5,000 bottles (416 cases)
