Crafted using grapes from select vineyards throughout Northern California, specifically from the Lodi region. Lodi’s climate is ideal for growing concentrated, full-flavored grapes - well draining sandy soil, warm summer afternoons and cooling nighttime breezes from the Pacific Ocean.
Flavor
Rich aromas of blackberry, mocha, caramel and vanilla, setting the stage for concentrated core flavors of plum, dark chocolate, toasted marshmallow and allspice.
Pairings
Charbroiled bacon cheeseburgers, spicy sausage gumbo or pork baby back ribs slathered in barbecue sauce.
Limited 1924 Edition
The heart of the Prohibition Era and wine’s darkest hour when it was deemed illegal. It was also the year our winery first planted vineyards in California and farmed grapes that were sold to friends and neighbors. Story goes some of these grapes might have been used to make wine. For those that dared to toil in the black-market of winemaking, full bodied red wines were the wine of choice and a crowd favorite at speakeasies across the country.
Crafted from the finest fruit grown in select Lodi vineyards, our 1924 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers dark, rich flavors of blackberries and currants with a hint of vanilla spice, balanced with velvety tannins in the style reminiscent of the prohibition ear.

Gnarly Head Wines
Gnarly Head wines began with a vision and a vine. In 2004, on a mission to make a serious Zinfandel, our winemakers journeyed to Lodi in central California in search of the famed old vine Zinfandel vineyards. Grown in the head-trained, spur-pruned method for over a century, these vigorous gnarled vines produced more ripened red fruit than they had ever seen. They took it as a challenge to create the biggest, boldest Zinfandel they had ever made. The result was authentic, structured wines with a hint of something unexpected. Something Gnarly.
But Zinfandel is not the only grape that can be Gnarly. Our winemakers select grapes from some of the best vineyards in Northern California to produce wines in our Gnarly house style - big and juicy. These wines are the perfect complement to life's bold moments.
